Tour Program
- Pick-up from your place of accommodation in Longyearbyen
- Meet your guide, followed by a briefing and safety instructions
- Get dressed in provided snowmobile gear (suit, boots, gloves, helmet)
- Departure to Colesbay by route: Longyearbyen – Fardalen – Colesdalen (snowmobiling: 30-35 km, 1.5-2 hours one way)
- Visit to ice cave
- Visit the old soviet mining town Colesbay
- Expedition lunch amidst Arctic’s natural beauty
- Return to Longyearbyen by snowmobile via a different route (snowmobiling: 30-35 km, 1.5-2 hours one way)
- Transfer to your place of accommodation
The price includes:
- Transfer to/from your place of accommodation in Longyearbyen
- Insurance covering search and rescue, evacuation costs in case of emergency
- Rental of Commander 600 E-TEC, fuel
- 1 set lunch in the field
- Rental of winter overalls, boots, gloves, and a helmet
- Guide services
The main component of this trip involves physical activity, such as snowmobiling. Although prior experience is not required, participants must dress appropriately, bring the necessary personal equipment, and be in good physical condition with a spirit of adventure and courage.
Our guide is ultimately responsible for the safety and well-being of all guests during the tour. Should the guide determine that a participant is not suitably dressed or lacks the required fitness level, they have the authority to decide if that individual may not join the activity for safety reasons. Some parts of the trip can be challenging due to variable weather conditions, strong winds, cold temperatures, and rugged terrain without defined paths.
Please note that snowmobiling are unsuitable for individuals with back issues. Additionally, pregnant women are not permitted to join any of these trips organized by ATC Grumant. We do not assume responsibility for any health concerns if this advice is disregarded.

Weather in Svalbard can be highly unpredictable and can change rapidly, with potential for strong winds, snowstorms, dense fog, crevasses, or insufficient snow and ice. This may necessitate changes to the planned route, which could prevent us from reaching the intended destination. We may also need to alter the type of transportation or accommodation outlined in the itinerary. While we will do everything possible to provide a memorable Arctic experience, it's important to understand that these unique conditions are a natural part of this destination.
