HOW TO GET HERE
Barentsburg lies approximately 60–100 km from Longyearbyen, depending on the route. There are no roads connecting the two settlements, so the journey itself is part of the Arctic experience.
In winter, visitors can reach Barentsburg by snowmobile, usually from mid-February to early May, depending on snow and weather conditions. Choose the tour that best suits your travel plans:
- Boundless Arctic – A three-day snowmobile expedition with two nights in Barentsburg and plenty of time to explore the settlement and its surroundings.
- Boundless Arctic Express – A two-day snowmobile journey with an overnight stay in Barentsburg.
- One-Day Tour to Barentsburg – A full-day snowmobile trip from Longyearbyen to Barentsburg and back.
During the summer season, Barentsburg can be reached by boat. Choose our one-day Barentsburg and Esmark Glacier tour for a day trip.
Scheduled summer tours usually operate from early June until late September. Boat services may continue into October, but late-season departures are limited and always depend on daylight, weather and sea conditions.
Each standard room features an indoor space area of 23.9 m2, including a 3.3 m2 bathroom.
The hotel also provides dry rooms on each floor for snowmobile equipment in winter and water equipment in summer.
On the first floor, guests can find a reception desk, bar, restaurant, sauna, and conference room for up to twenty people.
The hotel area ensures a stable Wi-Fi connection.
Renovated in 2020, the Rijpsburg restaurant offers a diverse menu while the Icebreaker Bar Krasin, inspired by historic icebreakers Krasin and Lenin, serves a wide range of beverages including the locally renowned Barentsburg vodka and beer from the local brewery.
The skilled bartender also crafts a variety of cocktails to delight guests.
Relax and revitalize your body in our Sauna, equipped with showers as well as a "chill room" where you can order any refreshments you desire.
