Tour Program

DAY 1
  • Pick-up from your accommodation in Longyearbyen
  • Meet your guide, followed by a briefing and safety instructions
  • Departure by open RIB boat to Barentsburg, with the following stops:
- Visit to Esmark Glacier
- Landing at Alkhornet for a hike at the base of the mountain, exploring bird cliffs and the Arctic tundra

  • Lunch in the field during the hike
  • Continue by boat to Barentsburg, arrival and check-in at the Barentsburg hotel
  • Meet at the reception for a guided tour of Barentsburg
  • Dinner at the hotel restaurant
  • Overnight stay at the Barentsburg hotel

Barentsburg is the Russian «capital» of Svalbard. It is a town of Arctic stories written by Dutch explorers, Russian and Norwegian trappers, American and German merchants, adventurers, Soviet builders of communism and Russian miners.
DAY 2
  • Early morning visit to the Barentsburg mine (optional, at extra cost)
  • Breakfast in the hotel restaurant
  • For today’s activity, the group will have a choice between a dog sledding on wheels or a guided hike in the surroundings of Barentsburg — the final decision will be based on weather conditions and group preferences
  • Lunch at the hotel restaurant
  • Departure by RIB boat to Longyearbyen, with stops at the abandoned settlement of Grumant and bird cliffs
  • Arrival in Longyearbyen at approximately 17:00, followed by transfer to your accommodation

Husky Farm, established in 2017, is home to 50 dogs from 7 northern breeds. Visitors can enjoy dog sledding in both summer and winter or go on dog trekking adventures, offering a true taste of Arctic life year-round.
