HOW TO GET TO OUR SETTLEMENTS
To get to Barentsburg or Pyramiden, and into the Arctic wilderness, you can travel by boat during summer and snowmobile during winter
| OPEN BOAT - Polarcirkel (RIB) Polarcirkel is an 8-meter-long boat of high endurance and created by Norwegian shipbuilders specifically for marine passages in the Arctic. The boats are equipped with a large power engine Yamaha (200 HP), echo sounders, emergency beacons and marine radio communication. Therefore, we provide special Arctic rescue suits by Norwegian brand Hansen. It will keep you warm, protect from the wind and give a boost of confidence during the boat trips. | CRUISE BOAT - m/s Princess Lea Our boat is available for charters to Barentsburg and Pyramiden. We provide short trips from Longyearbyen to different locations for the group up to 11 persons. | SNOWMOBILE The journey from Longyearbyen to Barentsburg takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the chosen route and weather conditions. Barentsburg is accessible by snowmobile from early February until the first week of May. The trip from Longyearbyen to Pyramiden takes around 5 to 8 hours, also depending on the route and weather. Pyramiden is accessible by snowmobile from mid-March until the first week of May. We provide transfers to both settlements — feel free to contact us for more details!
